Rare complete British Apple II communications/modem setup comprising a Miracle Technology WS2000 external modem, Apple II interface card, original VICOM communications software, manuals and cables.

Manufactured in England by Miracle Technology (UK) Ltd, Ipswich, this appears to date from the early-mid 1980s and is a fascinating survivor from the Viewdata / Prestel / bulletin board era of home computing.

Unlike the far more common US Hayes-compatible internal boards, this is a complete British external modem system with its dedicated Apple II interface hardware and original software/documentation.

The modem itself is a Miracle Technology WS2000 multi-standard modem supporting various CCITT and Viewdata modes, with front-panel controls and status indicators. The rear panel includes telephone line connections and a user/control port. The accompanying Apple II expansion card connects to the modem via ribbon cable.

Condition:

Untested. I do not have a suitable Apple II setup or active analogue telephone line with which to test the system. Therefore sold strictly as vintage collectible hardware.

Cosmetically, the modem and card are in good vintage condition overall with age-related wear/dust from storage. Please study photographs carefully.

The original floppy disk is present but has become bent/warped in storage and should be regarded as untested/display-only unless professionally recovered.
