Dynalogic Hyperion Vintage 1983 Portable Computer PC + Software Disks

The Hyperion is an early portable computer that vied with the Compaq Portable to be the first portable IBM PC compatible. It was marketed by Infotech Cie of Ottawa, a subsidiary of Bytec Management Corp, who acquired the designer and manufacturer Dynalogic Corporation in January 1983

The machine featured 256 KB RAM, dual 360 KB 5.25" floppy disk drives, graphics card compatible with both CGA and HGC, video-out jack, built-in 7-inch amber CRT, 300 bit/s modem, and an acoustic coupler. It included a version of MS-DOS called H-DOS and bundled word processor, database, and modem software.

Condition: Yellowing to case that would benefit from bleach treatment; adhesive repairs to 3 corners on left side of case, slight crack on lower front right - see photos; boot error when bought in 1993 - unresolved.

Last switched on mid 1990s. The machine has not currently been switched on to test as after 30 years it needs care in the way it is powered up; the main issues that can be anticipated are degradation of capacitors, which can obviously have consequences for other circuitry. Hence the listing as 'For parts or not working'.
